Jenkins was 12th seed for the �200,000 tournament at Purfleet

Ledbury darts star Terry Jenkins bowed out of the coral.co.uk Players Championship in the first round after a 6-2 defeat by Wayne Jones.

The Herefordshire player found himself 4-1 down and while he did stage a rally, Jones then closed out the match.

Jones hit 180s in back-to-back legs to wrap up the win, hitting 44 for a 12-dart finish in the final leg.

Jones will now face Ronnie Baxter in the second round after Baxter saw off Tony Eccles 6-4 in his opener.
