Worcester could reduce training

Richard Dryden
Dryden believes things are looking better off the field for Worcester

Worcester City manager Richard Dryden is considering scaling down the club's training schedule as he cannot afford injuries to his small squad.

"If we have to train one night a week, then we will," the boss told BBC Hereford & Worcester.

"The players are reasonably fit after a run of games, and we may be better off resting them, or allowing them to do their own work out.

"All I am concerned about is getting 13 or 14 people fit for every game."

Dryden has revealed the finances at St George's Lane are looking healthier, and their recent problems may be a bit of a reality check for other clubs.

"You don't know how much people's budgets are, you hear stories but never know.

"That may play into our hands (with players), we are not on a big budget and we have taken drops.

"Hopefully we are pretty secure at the moment, but if we can start on a level playing field next season you never know."

Worcester City's next game is at Braintree in Blue Square South on Saturday, 7 February at 1500 GMT and there will be coverage on BBC Hereford and Worcester.
