Manx cyclist Mark Christian is just 28 seconds behind GB Olympic Academy team-mate Luke Rowe, who leads the Tour of Normandy after Wednesday's third stage.

Christian finished 24 seconds behind stage three winner Guillaume Blot of France, with Rowe finishing third.

"It's all going to plan so far, so hopefully I can keep it up," he said.

Christian, 20, who won a bronze medal at last year's Commonwealth Games, finished 18th in the opening stage and third in Monday's prologue.

He also began Tuesday's stage wearing the King of the Mountains jersey after he was quickest to the intermediate checkpoint in Monday's prologue around Mondeville.

He said: "It was great to start on the podium and now I need to build on that performance."

The pairing of Rowe and Christian became National Madison Champions in 2010.
