Ramsey rider Cal Crutchlow finished 11th on his MotoGP debut in Sunday's Qatar Grand Prix at Losail.

"I struggled at the start," said the 26-year-old. "The tyres never came in. They just didn't work for the first five laps and I lost a bit laps 4-10.

"Then things started to get fast again and I started to pick up. I'm happy enough to be just outside the top 10."

His debut comes days after a crash in training when he trapped his hand under the handlebar of his bike.

He lost the tip of the little finger on his left hand in the accident, but did not need surgery.

Crutchlow, who won the World Supersport Championship in 2009, agreed a two-year deal with Tech 3 Yamaha team in September.
