Paul Kneen wins opening round of MMBC's Marathon Series

Paul Kneen had an excellent ride to win the opening round of the Manx Mountain Bike Club's 2010 Marathon Series held at Ballaugh on Monday.

Kneen completed the highly technical and undulating course in 1 hour, 50 minutes and 53 seconds.

Rob Sorby snatched second place, finishing more than three minutes behind Kneen and just seven seconds ahead of Julian Corlett in third.

Julie Lyness was the first lady home and 18th overall.

The next round will will be held at Corlea on 18 July.
