Manx End-2-End mountain bike race reaches capacity

The E2E Route
In 2009, 834 riders completed the gruelling 75km course

The Isle of Man End-2-End committee has announced that entries for the popular mountain bike event have reached their limit for 2010.

The event, scheduled for September, has grown year on year and 1,200 riders have already signed up to take part in the gruelling 75 km race.

Clerk of the course Julian Corlett said: "We've reached our limit in record time, it is incredible."

Last year 1,069 riders started the race, with 834 completing the route.

Corlett continued: " We simply could not have predicted these numbers. There are around 150 people who have not paid yet and if we have not received the money by the end of February we will be re-releasing the tickets.

"We will be giving this issue our full attention at our next meeting and there is still a small chance we might be able to increase the total to 1,500. The problem is the logistics."

All announcements will be made on the Manx End-2-End website.
