Snowboarder Zoe Gillings ready for Winter Olympics

Medal contender Gillings warms up for Vancouver

Isle of Man snowboarder Zoe Gillings says she is hopeful of winning a medal after being named in the Great Britain squad for the Winter Olympics.

The 24-year-old will travel to Vancouver, Canada ranked 11th in the World Cup standings.

"I'm really hopeful of making my country proud. My ambition is to come back with a medal," said Gillings.

"Representing your country is the ultimate honour. I make no secret of how much I love being part of Team GB."

Gillings added: "As an athlete who normally competes on her own, there's something fantastic about pulling on British team kit and joining up with your team-mates.

"I can't wait for the opening ceremony. I think it's going to be awesome."
