Turner wins junior downhill title

Mark Turner
Turner's time would have placed him 11th in the senior class

Mark Turner stormed to victory in the Isle of Man Junior National Downhill Championships on Sunday.

The 12-year-old conquered the slippery conditions and highly technical course at Arrasey to set a winning time of two minutes 31.57 seconds.

Turner's impressive run, which put him more than a minute ahead of second-placed Cai Illingworth, would have seen him finish 11th in the senior event.

The fifth and final round of the series will take place on 23 August.
