Ashley Collinge had an excellent ride to win the first round of the Manx Mountain Bike Club's Downhill Series held at Ballaugh Plantation on Sunday.

Collinge made his descent in a time of 2 minutes 39.112 seconds to win the series opener.

Chris Sharpe was second in a time of 2:43.998, 5.772 seconds behind Collinge with Russell Sansom third.

Mark Turner won the junior event in a time of 3:18.054 with Matthew Clague second and Matthew Kermeen third.

Round Two of the five round MMBC Downhill series will take place on the 10 May at Ballaspit.
