Jersey will host a stage of the Tour de Bretagne next year, the first time a section of the race has been held outside French region Brittany. Over 100 professional riders will be taking part in the race in April with teams from around the world competing. It is seen as a high profile event in the European cycling calendar, with many riders going on to compete in the Tour de France. The Jersey leg will be held over two days on 25 and 26 April 2010. Day one will consist of a 150km race made up of 10 laps of a circuit that runs from Gorey and along the north coast. Day two will be a time trial along the Five Mile Road. Tourism officials are at the French National Cycling Championships in St Brieuc where the announcement was made.
