Bowditch and Wright set a new mixed record

Records fell in the Guernsey Velo Club's 25-mile time trial on Sunday, despite the race being held in difficult conditions.

The circuit was adapted due to roadworks, but that did not prevent Aaron Bailey and Tony Bleasdale setting a new club record for the men's two up.

Ann Bowditch and Terry Wright broke the mixed record, while James McLaughlin set a new junior record.

Alex Falla and Callum Hill-Smith also set a new two up under-18s mark.

Last rider home was veteran Allan Renyard who decribed the conditions as "far from perfect".

New 25-mile time trial records:

Two up men's: Aaron Bailey and Tony Bleasdale - 54 mins 4 seconds

Two up mixed: Ann Bowditch and Terry Wright - 56.36

Two up under-18s: Alex Falla and Callum Hill-Smith - 1 hour 15mins 21 secs

Junior individual: James McLaughlin - 54.11
