 Contador claimed his first major victory of the season |
Spaniard Alberto Contador won the Paris-Nice with an audacious attack on the final stage on Sunday. The 24-year-old Discovery Channel rider took the yellow jersey ahead of Italian Davide Rebellin, who started the day six seconds in front.
Contador went for home 6km from the summit of the Col d'Eze and Rebellin could only struggle over the line 22 seconds behind the Spaniard.
Scotland's David Millar finished 15th in a group one minute off the lead.
