Potters Leisure Resort in Hopton-on-Sea has extended their sponsorship of the World Indoor Bowls Championships by a further two years. The new deal continues the association between the two parties which was originally made in 1998. "The World Bowls Tour is delighted that Potters has committed itself again to keeping bowls on television," said WBT Director Richard Maddieson. The 13th successive championships in Norfolk runs from 7-23 January 2011. The new deal, which could be extended by a further three years, could give a potential commitment of more than £1 million over the next five years. The singles championship will feature a 32-player draw - featuring the top 16 bowlers in the WBT world rankings, plus 16 qualifiers from England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Australia, South Africa, USA, Canada, Hong Kong, Israel and New Zealand. Potters also announced they would continue to improve the facility at Hopton-on-Sea. "By this autumn, we will also have invested further in our bowls facilities with new and unique state-of-the-art electronic scoring systems and a complete re-modelling of the indoor rinks," said managing director John Potter. England's Greg Harlow overcame a stiff challenge from Scottish qualifier Stewart Anderson to win the World Indoor Bowls title in 2010.
