Guernsey's Alison Merrien is to become the next sportsperson to join the Sports Commission Hall of Fame.

The bowls player, who is a former world champion in the indoor and outdoor versions of the sport, will be officially inducted on Thursday.

A picture of Merrien will also be unveiled at the ceremony at Beau Sejour.

She joins other names that include Touring Car world champion Andy Priaulx and footballer Matt Le Tissier.
