Riders coach Rob Paternostro ready for Worcester test

Basketball

Coach Rob Paternostro says there is no chance of Leicester Riders taking Worcester Wolves lightly this weekend.

Wolves, who have lost five of their eight BBL Championship games, visit the John Sandford Centre on Saturday and then travel to face Worthing on Sunday.

But Paternostro said: "Worcester are a deep balanced team.

"Danny Gilbert has been a good player in this league and with Rod Middleton they make a nice 1-2 punch that are very dangerous."

He added: "The have some solid veterans and some newcomers who have played well so far.

"Justin Dobbins has been a difficult player to cover so far and we are expecting another tough game on Saturday."

Riders lost their first two league games of the season but back-to-back wins over MK Lions and Essex Pirates, took them up to eighth in the table - one place behind Worcester.
