Leicester Riders swoop for guard Rishi Kakad

Rob Paternostro
Rishi fits into the team we have because he is versatile, skilled and hungry for success

Leicester Riders have made guard Rishi Kakad the latest addition to their roster for the new season.

Kakad, who was born in Luton but moved to America, played for Wayland Baptist University in Texas last season where he led scoring with 16 points a game.

Delighted Riders coach Rob Paternostro has tracked him for some time.

"Rishi worked out for us in Leicester and performed very well. He is creative offensively and showed he can play both guard positions," Paternostro said.

"He was a very effective scorer in college and can break people down with the dribble, which makes him a difficult match-up for opponents.

"It's exciting to work with talented young players who want to get better and I think Rishi is one of those players.

"He fits into the team we have put together because he is versatile, skilled and hungry for success at the professional level. He is excited to be in Leicester."
