Flyers claimed their maiden National Cup win in January |
Bristol Flyers could be one match away from the National League Division One title after recording wins against Taunton and Coventry over the weekend. The victories extend their winning streak to 11 matches and the Flyers play Derby on Saturday knowing that if Leeds slip up they could finish top. Flyers vanquished Taunton Tigers 81-70 on Saturday and cruised to an 88-60 win against Coventry Crusaders on Sunday. Doug McLaughlin-Williams shot 35 points for the Flyers over the weekend. Coach Andreas Kapoulas said: "The National Cup win gave us a much-needed boost of confidence and helped us realise that we can compete with everyone in this league." Leeds Carnegie play Manchester Magic away on Saturday. A win by the Yorkshire side would leave the Bristolians in runner-up position. Kapoulas added: "We know one thing for sure it is going to be a really exciting finish to the season and a great way to go into the play-offs."
