Cheshire Jets guard John Simpson has had his contract terminated with immediate effect after he tested positive for marijuana. Simpson was banned from playing during an UK Anti-Doping tribunal on Sunday. "John has let himself and the club down and I know he regrets what he did," said club director Peter Hawkins. "As a club we always strive to set the highest standards of behaviour and therefore had no hesitation in terminating John's contract." The news comes after the Jets' 92-82 victory over the Leicester Riders on Sunday. Cheshire were comfortable for most of the game and had a 20-point lead going into the final quarter thanks to 20 point hauls from Jerrah Young and Shawn Myers. They stay above Everton Tigers in fifth place and have a game in hand on their local rivals.
