Cheshire Jets making progress, says coach Paul Smith
Cheshire Jets coach Paul Smith says his club can not be distracted from the strides they are making, despite their 111-95 defeat in the BBL Trophy final.
The Jets were beaten by Newcastle at the Guildford Spectrum on Sunday.
"The bigger picture is rosy and we're making progress all the time," Smith told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"The club is making progress off the court and it's making progress on the court. But we'll come back fighting and crack on with the league campaign."
The Jets also managed to reached the BBL Cup final in January and were runners-up to Sheffield at the NIA in Birmingham, and Smith says the side have plenty to fight for.
He added: "A defeat like that hurts, but we're in this for the long run and the club's making progress. We went from 11th to eighth in the BBL Championship last year.
"We'll go eighth to third this year if we have a good run in the league. We've been in two finals as well at least and hopefully we'll have a good run in the play-offs."
