Evans in his first season as Wolves coach. |
Worcester Wolves head coach Chuck Evans says there is no way his squad will be allowed to rest on their laurels, after an exiting home win last week-end. The Wolves take on Cheshire Jets at Worcester University on Saturday 21 November (1900 GMT), and Evans insists they have to be a lot better: "Our performances last weekend are still not good enough based on where I want our team to be. " We were competing well in Newcastle, lost our focus in the second half. "Against Milton Keynes, we had a lead in the fourth but lost our focus again. "We were very fortunate to win the game, and to get respect in this league. We have to start winning games in a fashion that sends a message that we are not the whipping boy for any team anymore.' On a more positive note, Evans did have praise for the performances of several of his key players against the Lions last weekend: "Against Milton Keynes, it was a collective team effort. "I was very proud of how our British player Siman Stewart carved out playing time because of his commitment to defence. "Skouson Harker and Chey Christie stepped up to compliment our consistent performers Harry Disy and Evaldas Zabas."
