Flato had a career free throw average of 79% at Yale

Plymouth Raiders have signed American point guard Eric Flato from Yale University in the USA.

Flato, 23, comes from Yale with a strong reputation after rising to 13th in the college's all-time scoring list with 1,193 career points.

Flato feels moving to Plymouth and playing for the Raiders will provide a good challenge for him.

"I'm expecting our team to be extremely competitive throughout the season and to win a lot of games," he said.

"I've heard nothing but good things about the club, coach Gary Stronach and the city.

"I'm also really excited about working with the community and promoting basketball in Plymouth."

Flato is Raiders' second signing of the summer after new club captain Allister Gall.

The club are expecting to announce details of another signing by the end of the week.
