Terrence Durham was unable to play for much of the BBL Cup final |
Plymouth head coach Gary Stronach is excited by the prospect of signing a quality player after the Raiders board agreed to make money available to him. It comes after an injury-hit Raiders were humiliated 103-49 by the Everton Tigers in Sunday's BBL Cup final. He told BBC Radio Devon: "I'm excited about what this recruit could bring. "And without wishing to give too much away the board have authorised a budget that should attract a player who could make a real difference in the BBL." Raiders' player-coach DeAntoine Beasley is out for at least two months with a dislocated shoulder while Terrence Durham has a knee problem. But Stronach will have to find a player from within the EU as he has already got his quota of overseas players. "No team in the BBL could cope with the loss of players of the calibre of Terrence and DeAntoine," said chairman Bob Widdecombe. "The BBL's transfer deadline means that we have until the end of February to register players, but we are confident that Gary will identify and recruit his man long before that," he added.
