Drew Lasker scored 29 points to lead the Raiders back to winning ways |
Drew Lasker hit 29 points for the Plymouth Raiders as they won their eighth game in nine BBL matches with an 84-79 win over the Cheshire Jets. Saturday's victory took the Raiders to third in the table, two points behind joint leaders Scottish Rocks and Newcastle Eagles. DeAntoine Beasley came back from a foot injury to score 18 for the Raiders. "We played tremendously, we really did," head coach Gary Stronach told BBC Radio Devon after the match. "We closed out the game after the upset of last week and coming off the seven-game winning streak." And Stronach was even more pleased after a tough week in the Raiders camp with Anthony Martin and Terrence Durham both suffering from illness. "We lost James Noel to a neck injury, both Terrence and Anthony had this bug they picked up. We got nothing out of Terrence, he shouldn't really have come to the game. "But the other guys stepped up and the biggest thing I'm going to take out of this is our defensive output in the second half."
