Paternostro will now look to fill the vacant spot

Leicester Riders have released guard Mindaugas Janiska from their roster with immediate effect.

Coach Rob Paternostro said the decision had been made as the 26-year-old Lithuanian was not the right fit for the BBL team.

General manager Russell Levenston said: "We are disappointed to have to release MD from his contract.

"But overall he has not made the contribution to the team that was anticipated this season."

Levenston added: "We wish him all the very best for the future and thank him for the contribution he has made to the club over the last 14 months."
