Plymouth beat a host of other clubs to secure Lasker's signature |
Guard Drew Lasker has ended speculation about his future by signing a new one year contract with Plymouth Raiders. The 25-year old BBL All-Star from Texas averaged 19 points per game last season and finished third in the BBL coaches' Player of the Year poll. "This is a massive signing for us," said Raiders head coach Gary Stronach. "European teams went after him hard in the off season. But he's decided to return to Plymouth and I couldn't be happier," he added. Lasker also averaged over five rebounds and nearly two steals in every BBL game he played for Plymouth last year and was the club's top scorer with 589 points. | We were waiting for his contract to come through on the fax machine and there's been a lot of smiles around the office since it came through yesterday | The Raiders have now appointed their full quota of three foreign players with Lasker joining fellow Americans Terrence Durham and DeAntoinne Beasley for the upcoming season.
