Shropshire Revolution have named Dave Reid as their new head coach to lead them into the 2010 British American Football League campaign.

Reid has been with the club since it started in 2006 and became the club's offensive co-ordinator last year.

He told BBC Radio Shropshire: "It's a real honour, and marks what can only be described as a dream come true for me."

The 29-year-old has recently been part of the coaching team with the national college champions Birmingham Lions.

"I believe this season will be the most challenging in the club's history," Reid added.

"We've got a roster now creeping up to 50 players, and we all need to challenge ourselves in every way imaginable in order to be fully prepared, fully focused and fully hungered to compete every week."
