Video - Hankey's 'stone cold stare'
Top seed Tony O'Shea secured his place in the last eight of the BDO world championship with a convincing 4-0 win over Stephen Bunting at the Lakeside.
Meanwhile, defending champion and fifth seed Ted Hankey beat Dutchman Willy de Wiel 4-1 to progress.
Dave Chisnall will face Hankey in the quarter-final after he powered to a 4-2 win over fellow Englishman Tony West.
In a tense match Norway's Robert Wagner reached the last eight for the first time with a 4-3 win over Brian Woods.
After battling back from two sets down, Wagner forced the match into a tiebreaker, which he took in a nerve-wracking 11th and final leg.
Wagner's victory will pair him with tournament favourite O'Shea in the quarter-finals.
Despite big scoring from Bunting, who hit eight 180s in the match, O'Shea's progression was straightforward as he consistently hit the required doubles.
"It was all down to experience and that is a word I have used a lot since finishing runner-up 12 months ago," said O'Shea, who was beaten by Hankey in the Lakeside final last year.
"You just can't buy experience. That match did not seem like 4-0, I was really chuffed because I scored well myself.
"Steve scored heavily on the 180s but it's doubles that win games."
