Cornish Sharks wide receiver Lee Ambridge has been called up to the Great Britain youth squad.
Ambridge is the second Sharks player to be selected by the national team, with defensive tackle Gavin Boak selected for the GB Lions in February.
Sharks head coach Brian Smallworth believes Ambridge's selection was just a matter of time.
"It was clear from the beginning that this young man has all the tools to go to the top," he said.
"Some of the catches that Lee has made this year have been top class and his ability to get open has improved vastly along with his blocking," Smallworth added.
Ambridge will benefit from two familiar faces when he joins the GB youth team, as Smallworth and Sharks player-coach Nigel Hoyte have been appointed onto the coaching team.
Smallworth will be working as running backs coach, while Hoyte will be defensive ends coach.
