Mariana Agathangelou helped England keep their perfect record in group eight

Jersey badminton player Mariana Agathangelou has made a winning start in the women's doubles for England at the European Mixed Team Championships.

Agathangelou, 20, and partner Jennifer Wallwork beat Carissa Turner and Caroline Harvey 21-12 21-16.

Their win helped England to a second successive 5-0 win as they stay top of group eight at Liverpool's Echo Arena.

England face Scotland in a group decider on Thursday, with Jersey's Elizabeth Cann also in the squad.
