Cotillard and Le Brun win 2008 Petanque Island Doubles

Mick Cotillard and Darren Le Brun are the 2008 Magic Touch Island Doubles Petanque champions.

After the group stages they were not even in the top three pairings but gained entry to the semi-finals as the best placed runners-up.

However, once in the semis they crushed Colin and Betty Vibert, who never quite got into the match 13-0.

The final was a tighter match against Neil Selby and Chris Pinel, who had defeated Paisnel in their semi.

It was very tight until the teams were at 5-5.

The following end Mick Cotillard fired the jack to the back.

There opponents had played all their boules and Cotillard and Le Brun capitalised and took five points.

Although Selby and Pinel fought to 9-11, the deficit was too great and Cotillard and Le Brun took the trophy with a 13-10 win.
