Northern Ireland skater Jenna McCorkell produced a superb free programme to finish a creditable 15th in the European Championships on Saturday. McCorkell moved up five positions from her overnight position in Warsaw to just miss out on equalling her best previous finish in the championships.
The 20-year-old finished 14th in 2004 and 16th in 2005 but missed last year's championships because of injury.
McCorkell moved up the field after finishing 11th in the free programme.
The Coleraine woman is now based in Belgium after switching coaches this season.
She is now guided by Vera Vandecaveyen after previously been coached in Coventry by Juri Bureiko.
McCorkell is engaged to be married to six-times Belgian champion Kevin Van Der Perren who took the bronze medal in the men's event on Thursday.
The 20-year-old went into the event after recently claiming her fourth British title in five years.
Carolina Kostner took the gold medal which gave Italy their first continental women's title.
The 19-year-old from Bolzano took the title ahead of Sarah Meier of Switzerland with Kiira Korpi of Finland.
