Campbell on track for London 2012
Hull amateur boxer Luke Campbell has set his sights on a place in the ring at the London 2012 Olympics.
The 23-year-old was an emphatic winner over the previous top ranked Iain Weaver in the 56kg category to lift the ABA title in Liverpool.
Campbell told BBC Radio Humberside: "I've targeted the London Olympics - it would be fantastic.
"You've got to qualify for the Olympics by finishing in the world top eight. The qualifier is in September."
Campbell says if he does not get through at the first time of asking - at the qualifiers in Azerbaijan - he has got a second chance before 2012.
"There's another chance in Turkey but if you don't qualify then, that's it, you won't go," he added.
To win a medal would be the best achievement in the world for me and because it's in London it's more special

Campbell has resisted all temptations to turn professional to fulfil his dream of boxing in his home country in the Olympics.
He said: "It would be unbelievable really to go to the Olympics. It would make everything worthwhile. All the days when I get up at six o'clock in the morning and go running - not going out at the weekends with my mates and training week-in week-out and being away from home.
"I'm trying my best and it's what it's all about. To win a medal would be the best achievement in the world for me and because it's in London it's more special but I'm not getting ahead of myself - I know I've got to get there first and that's not going to be easy."
