William had three horses qualified for the Olympics, but the selectors chose Parkmore Ed, or simply Ed.

William describes Ed as "a confident person who is keen to do things". When asked what the worst thing about him is, William could only suggest the fact that Ed is towards the end of his career - "it's sad, as he's such a fabulous horse", he said.

Ed's Olympic training regime involves William purposely riding him at the hottest part of the day with fleece rugs on.
