Down remain in relegation danger after suffering a heavy Allianz NHL Division Two defeat at Ballygalet on Sunday. Wexford had a strong wind at their backs in the first half and they made it count with Stephen Banville scoring a 28th minute goal. Down trailed 1-12 to 0-2 at the break and Andrew Shore added the second goal nine minutes into the second half. Down midfielder Andy Savage is banned for next weekend's game against Carlow after picking up a yellow card.
