A stoppage-time free by Paul Finlay at Clones sent Armagh to a second successive defeat in Division Two of the Allianz National League. Armagh scored the opening four points through Tony Kernan (2), Paul Courtney and Paul McGrane.
Two Finlay frees and a 22nd-minute goal from Conor McManus put Monaghan ahead.
McGrane was sent-off for striking and Aidan O'Rourke netted for Armagh but Finlay's eighth point secured victory for last year's Ulster finalists.
