Raymond Ronaghan celebrates after scoring his first-half goal

The damage was done in the first half with Raymond Ronaghan netting after good work from Thomas Freeman.

Conor McManus added a second goal while Eoin Lennon went close for Monaghan as they led 2-6 to 0-4 at the break.

The sides shared the points in the second half but Eddie Reilly's sending off completed a poor game for Cavan.
