Canavan was taken off during the first half of semi final |
Tyrone's inspirational skipper Peter Canavan is on course to be ready for the All-Ireland final against Armagh on 28 September.
Canavan was taken off during Tyrone's semi-final victory over Kerry last month with a serious ankle injury.
However, his progress has been very encouraging for Red Hand boss Mickey Harte who has also good news about half-forward Gerard Cavlan.
''We are very happy that Peter's getting the best possible treatment from Dublin sports physio Alan Kelly and our own backroom staff,'' said Harte.
''They are carrying on the work and rehabilitation programme that Alan has scheduled for Peter.
''Together they'll provide the very best opportunity to get him ready for the game and I'm very happy that that is what's being done.
''Peter has another spell in Dublin this week and will get more treatment there and then it will be carried on at home.
''As far as Gerard is concerned I think the injury he picked up in a club game is not serious. I expect him to be back at training this week.''
Meanwhile, Meath veteran Graham Geraghty's was handed a massive 48-week ban by the county board.
The versatile 30-year-old was sent off in a recent club match following two yellow cards, but was later reported by Dunshaughlin referee Jim Smith for alleged physical interference and verbal abuse.
