John McEntee appeared to elbow Donegal's Barry Monaghan |
Armagh's John McEntee is still not certain of his place in the All-Ireland football final as the threat of disciplinary action hangs over him.
There is a chance GAA chiefs could take action over the Armagh player's clash with Barry Monaghan of Donegal in the semi-final.
McEntee was booked over the incident and Armagh officials are confident that was the end of the matter.
However, a Games Administration Committee source has told the Irish News that McEntee could still be called upon to defend himself.
The committee's next scheduled meeting is on 16 September - 12 days before the historic Croke Park showpiece against Ulster neighbours Tyrone.
If McEntee was charged with deliberately striking an opponent, he could be suspended from the final.
Earlier in the season Tyrone's Gavin Devlin was landed with a 12-week ban after the GAC studied a video recording of a stamping offence in the National League Division One final against Laois.
