The Red Hand county made a solid start and looked odds-on for victory when a 17th mintue dismissal reduced Roscommon to 14 men. But Roscommon, now under former Dublin manager Tommy Carr, never gave up. They got their ultimate reward in stoppage time when full-forward Gerry Lohan scored the decisive point. Tyrone will be wondering why they did not manage to capitalise on their numerical advantage after Jonathan Dunning was sent-off Difficult task Right half-forward Dunning was shown a straight red card for a rash challenge on Ryan McMenamin. Tyrone now have the difficult task of beating Galway next Sunday of they are to get their Division 1A campaign back on track. Galway enjoyed an impressive eight-point win over Donegal so Tyrone will have their work cut out at Healy Park on 9 February. Manager Harte did not hide his disappointment after the Roscommon setback. "It was a bad day for Tyrone," he said. "We made a good start and got into a useful lead. "But we did not deal with the situation when Roscommon went down to 14 men. "I felt a few decisions went against us but that is history now." |
