McEniff names Donegal squad
Donegal manager Brian McEniff is also county chairman
Brian McEniff took squd to Canaries in the New Year
Donegal boss Brian McEniff has named his squad for Sunday's Dr McKenna Cup game with holders Cavan at Ballyshannon.

McEniff, back for a fourth term as manager and doubles up as county chairman, made himself busy at the squad's holiday base in Gran Canaria.

Apart from a few notable absentees, he has chosen a side similar to the 2002 team that took Dublin to a replay in the All-Ireland quarter-finals last season.

In midfield, John Gildea, who taken over a the under-21 manager, appears to have stuck by his intention to retire, despite having a superb season last year.

Contracted

His place goes to Buncrana man Paul McGonigle, who played most of 2002 as a third midfielder despite being listed at number 15 by Mickey Moran.

In the full-forward line, Brendan Devenney is unavailable as he is contracted to Finn Harps, while Brian Roper is injured.

Standing in are members Brian McLaughlin and James Gallagher who start in the corner-forward positions while Kevin Rafferty is at number 12.

Cavan go into the competition as defending champions when the McKenna Cup was last played in the millennium year.

Donegal: Tony Blake, Shane Carr, Eamonn Doherty, Noel McGinley, Damien Diver, Raymond Sweeney, Kevin Cassidy, Jim McGuinness, Paul McGonagle, Christy Toye, Michael Hegarty, Kevin Rafferty, James Gallagher, Adrian Sweeney, Brian McLaughlin.
