Coulter fit to face Armagh
Coulter had been suffereing from a shoulder knock
Benny Coulter ready for Sunday's action at Burren
Benny Coulter will line out for Down for Sunday's McKenna Cup opener against Armagh in a game that has been switched from Newry to Burren.

Coulter has recovered from a shoulder problem and will join a quintet of Mayobridge youngsters as new boss Paddy O'Rourke begins to sort out his squad.

O'Rourke, who took over the manager's role from Peter McGrath, is in the process of cutting down a squad of 36 players for the test against the All-Ireland Champions.

While there is a general raft of young talent in the squad, O'Rourke is keen to have a variable amount of experience in his squad.

Players like Shane King, Aidan O'Prey and Liam Doyle along with Gregory and James McCartan, would form the backbone of the team.

Joe Kernan, meanwhile, will get to grips with the new season once he has returned with his squad from a holiday to Mauritius.

Armagh will undoubtetdly use the game to blow away the cobwebs.

Although the result will matter little, they will want to get back into some sort of a rhythm after their round of celebratory dinners following the delights of winning the Sam Maguire.
