Errigal take Tyrone title
Errigal Ciaran beat underdogs Killyclogher by two points
Errigal Ciaran celebrate their Tyrone final victory

Errigal Ciaran 1-9 Killyclogher 1-7

Favourites Errigal Ciaran won their fifth Tyrone Football Championship in 10 years with a two-point victory over Killyclogher at Healy Park.

Sunday's final was a real ding-dong affair with Killyclogher making their more illustrious rivals fight all the way for their success.

Killyclogher went into an early two-point lead but, thanks to scores from brothers Peter and Pascal Canavan, Errigal went into the half-time berak 0-5 to 0-3 ahead.

Killyclogher quickly levelled in the second half and then went into the lead when Martin Corcoran fisted the ball to the net for the first goal.

But the experienced Errigal dug deep and replied with a goal of their own, scored superbly by county star Peter Canavan.

However, Killyclogher came back again and the sides were level on 1-7 each with five minutes to go.

But their brave title bid was thwarted by late points from team captain Mark Harte and Eoin Gormley.
