Jefferies signs for UGP
Yorkshire rider David Jefferies
Jefferies rides for the NI-based Hector Neill team
The Ulster Grand Prix received a massive boost on Wedneday when the organisers signed up road racing star David Jefferies for the August meeting.

Getting the Yorkshireman is a tremendous coup for the event, which celebrates its 80th anniversary this summer.

Jefferies, along with Welshman Ian Lougher who had already signed for the race, will ride in two superbike races, a production event and a 600cc race.

Jefferies is the lap record holder at the Dundrod circuit, posting a speed of 126.70mph two years ago.

The TAS Suzuki ace also set a new course record when claiming a treble at the Isle of Man TT earlier this month.
