| Saturday, 15 June, 2002, 18:38 GMT 19:38 UK Treble for Lougher Lougher will be happy with his day's work Ian Lougher won a hat-trick at the Dunrod 150 races on Saturday. The Welshman, who now lives in Dromore in Co. Down, rode to victory in the Regal 600 event, the Lambert and Butler Open race and the Dundrod 150. And Lisburn rider Darran Lindsay was also celebrating as he won the 125cc and the 250cc events on Saturday. TAS Suzuki rider Lougher opened his account for the day with victory over Richard Britton and Adrian Archibald in the Lambert and Butler race. The pace in this race was so high that both Lougher and Britton broke the lap speed record, with Enniskillen rider Britton getting the final verdict at 126.51mph. Confidence Lougher then pipped Britton and Archibald into second and third place again in an extremely tight Regal 600 race, with Lindsay coming fourth. The top four riders were extremely close over the entire seven laps and less than half a second separated them at the flag. Welshman Lougher completed his treble in the Dundrod 150, with Brian Gardiner this time finishing second. Lougher will now be looking forward with confidence to the forthcoming Ulster Grand Prix. | See also: 15 Jun 02 | Motorsport 14 Jun 02 | N Ireland 14 Jun 02 | N Ireland Top N Ireland stories now: Links to more N Ireland stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
