Ben Reade will be back in action for Potters at Buxton |
Stoke Potters are in National League Knockout Cup action on Sunday when they ride against last season's National League treble winners Buxton Hitmen. The Hitmen swept the board in all competitions in the National League last season. The Potters welcome former Buxton rider Jason Garrity as a guest rider to replace Simon Lambert on Sunday. Stoke team manager Malcolm Vasey said: "We've booked Jason as our guest as he scored well for them last season." The Potters welcome back Ben Reade who returns to action after missing last week's defeat at Hackney. | It is a vitally important meeting for us and we aim to get a good result Stoke Potters team manager Malcolm Vasey |
Buxton are led by Ben Taylor who has returned to the sport this season having taken a year out. He will receive solid support from Robert Branford, who doubles up with Redcar in the Premier League, and former Potters riders Adam Allott, Luke Priest and veteran Dean Felton, who complete the Hitmen's top five. The return leg is to be held at Loomer Road on Saturday, 7 May (1930 BST). Vasey added: "I feel we have enough to win at the Hi-Edge Raceway track. "We have riders in form like Jaimie Pickard and Tim Webster who are riding well and it's good to know we will have young Ben Reade back in the side, as I feel the reserves as always have a key part to play in the match. "It is a vitally important meeting for us and we aim to get a good result."
