Mole has previously run tracks at Workington, Belle Vue and Wolves amongst others |
Returning Birmingham Brummies owner Tony Mole says he has no qualms about regaining control of the club. Mole had one season of retirement after leasing the team to Gary Patchett, but a permanent deal fell through. "We're working hard behind the scenes putting in place a management structure and it's onwards and upwards," Mole told BBC WM's speedway forum. "We've every confidence that we'll have a good year on the track and a good financial year." The Brummies were always the bridesmaids in 2010, runners-up in the Premier League Trophy and beaten semi-finalists in both the Knockout Cup and the play-offs - Newcastle their conquerors on all three occasions. | He's a very, very popular rider at Birmingham - an acknowledged Birmingham hero |
"It was a good season last year and a good mix between older, experienced riders in Jonno [Steve Johnston] and Jason Lyons and the younger riders introduced. I'd like to follow the same principles," Mole noted. "Jason is in our plans and we're on the ball with him, he's a very, very popular rider at Birmingham, an acknowledged Birmingham hero." The Brummies will appoint a new team manager in succession to Graham Drury within the next week, and have made Mick Bratley a licensed co-promoter at Perry Barr.
