Summers' engine failure proved costly for the Brummies |
Birmingham Brummies ended their regular season fixtures with a narrow 49-41 Premier League defeat at King's Lynn. The play-off bound club had been in good shape to record an away win, until Aaron Summers suffered engine failure when leading in heat 10. That allowed King's Lynn to draw level at 30-30, and race wins for Olly Allen and Adam Roynon saw them home. Richard Sweetman led the Brummies' scoring with 11 points, Jason Lyons adding 10 and Steve Johnston eight. Birmingham can now concentrate on the play-offs and the Knockout Cup - they are at home first against Newcastle in the latter competition.
