Newcastle climb above Birmingham in Premier after win

Newcastle Diamonds are up to second in the Premier League table after beating rivals Birmingham Brummies 60-35 at Newcastle Stadium on Monday.

Stars of the show for Diamonds were Mark Lemon, who rode a 15-point maximum while Kenni Larsen and Rene Bach scored 14 apiece to seal a comfortable win.

"Now we've got second place, we need to secure it and make sure of the silver medal," team boss George English said.

"We can assure our opponents we'll give them all a hard run for their money."

Brummies did have Aaron Summers in bright form, scoring 11, while captain Jason Lyons scored nine.


Newcastle: Kenni Larsen 14+1, Jason King - Rider replacement, Derek Sneddon 6+1, Rene Bach 14+1, Mark Lemon 15, Dakota North 8+2, Adam McKinna 3.
