Wortmann was released by Comets' rivals King's Lynn

Workington Comets have signed Danish rider Casper Wortmann as cover for the injured Kenny Ingalls.

Wortmann joins the Comets after leaving King's Lynn and will make his debut in the Knock Out Cup semi-final at Edinburgh Monarchs on 17 September.

"We decided to try and bring in one who was experienced in the Premier League," said Comets boss Ian Thomas.

"There aren't a lot around who fit the bill but Casper is keen to show King's Lynn slipped-up when they let him go."
