Wolves boss Peter Adams bullish over title defence

Wolverhampton boss Peter Adams admits his side's thoughts are now turning towards the play-offs and their hopes of defending their Elite League title.

Wolves followed up their win at Ipswich on Thursday with another victory on Monday at Monmore, 50-42 over Swindon.

"It's in our own hands and we've been on a good run of form," Adams said.

"It's ours to lose and when you look at how young this team is you have to say they have done very well this season and there is plenty more to come."

Wolves currently lie second in the Elite League but, with the top four qualifying for the play-offs, they have a 15-point cushion over fifth-placed Swindon.

"I'm looking forward to seeing how we can improve during the rest of the season with the ultimate aim of reaching the play-offs in peak form," Adams added.

Freddie Lindgren was again the star for Wolves in their win over Swindon, bagging 13 points.

There was also a successful return to action for Adam Skornicki who returned a 10-point haul after recovering from his serious facial injuries sustained in a recent fall at Belle Vue.

Wolves are next in action on Monday, 19 July when they take on local rivals Coventry in the quarter-finals of the Knock-Out Cup.
